📝 Our Complete Review

The RAVPower 65W USB-C GaN Charger represents the modern evolution of universal chargers. Compact and powerful, it leverages gallium nitride technology to deliver exceptional performance in a pocket-sized format.
RAVPower strikes hard with this GaN charger that redefines mobile charging standards. Gallium nitride technology reduces size by 40% compared to traditional silicon chargers, while offering superior energy efficiency and better thermal management. The case stays lukewarm even after an hour of intensive charging, where classic models would heat considerably. Foldable prongs are a major asset for transport, eliminating the risk of damaging other devices in the bag. Both USB-C ports support Power Delivery up to 65W in solo use, allowing full-speed charging of a 13-inch MacBook Pro. The two USB-A ports add versatility with Quick Charge 3.0, perfect for Android smartphones or accessories. In practice, connecting a laptop on USB-C and a smartphone on USB-A works admirably, with 45W and 18W distributed intelligently respectively. However, using all four ports simultaneously reveals limitations: power drops drastically to 18W per USB-C port and 12W per USB-A port. This degradation can frustrate users wanting to charge multiple power-hungry devices. The blue LED, though discreet, can disturb in a dark room. The absence of USB-C cable in the box disappoints at this price point. The glossy white case gets dirty quickly and attracts scratches. Despite these reservations, this charger excels in its main role: effectively replacing 2-3 separate chargers during travel. Compactness, charging power and thermal management make it an essential travel companion for mobile professionals and frequent travelers equipped with USB-C devices.

🏆 FINAL VERDICT

The RAVPower 65W GaN brilliantly combines compactness and power for digital nomads. An excellent compromise despite some limitations in intensive multi-port charging.
